When we started our business six going on seven years ago, I had only hoped that it would be successful. I have put everything on the line to make it work, including friendships. If I had known how hard it would be and how much sacrifice it would take, I am not going to lie, I would think longer and harder before entering the entrepreneurship world. I had to give up financial freedom and watch friends buy houses, go on vacations, and buy things freely. I was only 26, when it all started, but understood that if I worked hard and gave it time it would pay off.
The reason I am writing is to let you all know, that finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, it was a sacrifice, BUT I love what I do and I am passionate about my industry. I get to spend time and watch my sweet Eden grow into the little girl she is becoming. Blue Haven and Southern Origin Meadery are growing and finding our way in this crazy world and 2020 is our year!
We are growing our meadery operation by at LEAST double this year. With honey fermenting and making smooth, delectable honey wine; our goal is to make mead for everyone to enjoy. We have seven meads in the bottle with five more aging.
We are finalizing our deal with a distributor and couldn’t be happier. It was always scary for us, especially the control freak that I am, to give up control of our mead. We found the perfect match for our meads and know that they are in good hands. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us! Now it won’t be just me and the companies mini van out slinging mead, we have a team to support us! How cool is that?!
We love the wine business, but honey is the foundation. We take pride in offering the purest, raw honey around. We love educating our youth on the importance of bees. While mead is where we are focusing, we will always bottle our liquid gold and make the most nourishing body care.
We have big dreams for 2020 and are looking to open a new tasting room. We have our main location in good ole Canon, our partnered location in Cleveland with Jumping Goat Coffee, our vintner has his own operation selling our mead in Cleveland at Noble Wine Cellar, Bee Southern in Washington will have it available soon, and now we want to find the newest home for our products and mead. If you want us to come to a town near you, please shoot us an email or direct message.
Also, locals in the Canon area we need your help to continue to support this small tasting room. So share our posts, come to events, and keep up the love! You helped us grow to this point and we want to stay in the heart of Northeast Georgia!
Cheers to a great New Year,
